Description
The series for the Systems Thinking pillar, with AI as its biggest arena. The series name doubles as the skill it teaches, conversation design: articulating what you want to AI. The answer to "I'm prompting and prompting and prompting, and I can't get the results I want." Their AI pain is a systems failure wearing an AI costume: paying for the tools and still getting generic output, because nothing is saved, reused, or standardised. Held a specific way: human skills first, AI in support, permission-giving not preaching. The label is hype, the capability is real.
The one owned idea (designed participation) belongs to no single series: plant it here too whenever it fits naturally.
The breakdown
The repeatable structure (every episode):
- The frustration. Open on your person's exact words. "You're prompting and prompting and can't get what you want."
- The reframe. Design the outcome, not the prompt. The skill is the conversation, not the tool.
- The method. Show the move: how to say what you want, save it, reuse it, so you stop starting from zero.
- The belief. One screenshotable line. Taste and human skill are the moat, not the model.
The one rule: permission-giving, never preaching, and never sounding like every AI-hype account. Calm delivery, human skills first. The capability is real, the label is noise.
What to avoid:
- Sounding like an AI-hype account.
- Tool worship. It's the articulation that matters, not the model of the week.
- Overpromising. Show a real, repeatable method, not magic.
Episode seeds
- "Prompting and prompting and prompting…" (the signature opener) and the reframe.
- Design the outcome, not the prompt: what that looks like in practice.
- How to save and reuse so you stop starting from zero.
- From 50 prompts to one framework.
- Why your AI output is generic, and how taste fixes it.
- "Most designers are optimising the wrong skill." Conversation design is the new craft.
